FAQs > How to Keep Storage Locations Secret?
On your hard disk along with the Pryvit program you may find a file named
ILocate.dat. This master list contains an entry for every eligible Internet location for
archive files that are created by the Pryvit program for you. These entries may come
from an Internet Storage Service Provider, or they may be added by you
directly. Each entry in the list consists of a
full Internet address, directory location, user identifier, and password. It is
disguised so that only your computer
using Pryvit can get at the list. For details, see Using
Pryvit Professional to plan locations. From a security point of view, the
most important action is to process any location list file quickly and then
destroy it. Once it is incorporated into the ILocate.dat file, your Internet
storage locations cannot be seen or data mined.
