For most things, no. You can get somebody else to download
Pryvit for you. You can also privatize a set of files
by directing Pryvit to place the archive files all on your hard
disk.
One thing you cannot do conveniently without
access to the Internet is Pryvit distribution. You cannot share files with
others unless you can put the files where they can get at them. (Of course,
there is always ordinary mail... Sigh!) Be very sure that you keep the reconstitution file
separate from the archive files.
