Other > FAQs > What Kinds of Files May I Protect?

You may use Pryvit to ensure the privacy of any computer files whatsoever, no matter what software is used to work with them. As long as a file is on your computer and you can point and click its name when a directory / file list is displayed, it is eligible.

That doesn't mean you should use it for all your files. Skip files that are public or that can be reloaded from a CD-ROM or downloaded from the Internet. Skip files for which you do not have the right to make copies. Focus in on just those sensitive files that contain data that is important to you. In the documents on Pryvit, these are called "sensitive files" or "vulnerable data files".

Guess what? You can privacy-protect files that are already encrypted! Use this feature of Pryvit when you want ultra-strong privacy protection combined with the ability to share protected files quickly anywhere in the world with just the people you want and with no-one else.
