Software Providers

If you have read other pages at this site (the home page, the executive view, examples of use, etc.), you know that the Pryvit technology has been made fully public. We at Franciscan University of Steubenville believe that there are significant benefits for software providers in Pryvit technology. The value is increased by inviting cryptographers and cryptanalysts to evaluate Pryvit. This section contains an invitation to software providers to experiment, together with some design suggestions. You will also find access to source code, a free personal license agreement, and a draft commercial license. On all these areas, we invite your feedback.

Our goal is to equip the software community with a technology that opens new opportunities in providing confidentiality for computer files and communications.

The primary business of Franciscan University is higher education. There are other technologies in our development pipe line (for example, proximity search) that relate more closely to learning methods and higher education. Therefore we do not intend a permanent presence in the field of computer security. Our objective is to work with the cryptography and software communities to raise awareness and perception of value of the Pryvit technology. Then we will invite a full buyout of Franciscan University's rights to Pryvit.
