What Is Pryvit? > Examples of use > Mobile Computer User

Jenn has a subscription with a distributed storage provider. For a monthly fee, she can store up to 200 megabytes of files on the Internet, and pull down whatever she needs when she needs it from anywhere in the world. Jenn knows that it is smart to protect her files, no matter what assurances are built into the subscription contract. So she keeps them privatized in small groups (usually a directory in each privacy archive).

Jenn does not even carry a laptop anymore on her travels. She needs only a portable USB hard drive, weighing a few ounces and taking up hardly any room at all. She has her reconstitution files set to work on any computer, but offsets the risk by requiring a complicated passphrase. When Jenn needs some files, she finds a computer with the software she needs, and selects the reconstitution file that will retrieve the files she needs from the servers of her distributed storage provider.
