Results are returned to you, ranked according to "closeness of
fit". That means that the closer together the words are that you
want, the nearer they are to the beginning of the list of results.
We believe that proximity search is a good way to get at meaning.
Basic search
lets you input one or a few words. If you then click the Search
button, you will be shown portions of pages that have the words
you want close together. You can also input parts of words, determine
whether capitalization matters, choose whether you want any of
the words rather than all of them, or whether you want an exact
phrase.
With advanced
search, you can make your search as complex as you like.
